Some Friends Have Fur - By Emma A.

One of the most special and life changing moments in my life was when I got one of my best friends, my dog Biscuit.  What I did not know is that little dog would change my life forever.

It all started with a regular morning.  I just got home from school and there it was… a big present wrapped in a sheet of green Rudolf  paper. My mom told me to sit down in our great big living room, but I jumped straight to the present.  I started to feel it. It felt like their were little squares. The paper crinkled louder than when I broke the garage light, but that's a different story.  My mom asked me if I knew what it was, but I was clueless. I asked her if I could open it, but she that we have to wait for Dad. All I was thinking in my head was bla bla bla.  Even though I did not want to, I waited.

Finally my dad was in the room.  At the time I did not know why, but my mom was filming me.  They told me to open it. I ripped it apart so fast you could almost see sparks coming off of it.  I just couldn't wait.

I couldn't  believe my eyes!   I felt a sudden surge of joy flowing through me!  I opened the cage. I marveled at the dogs silver and gold lustrous fur simmering in the sunlight peeking in from the window.
Later that day I decided to name her Biscuit.  Now she's not just my dog she's my protector, my comforter,  and most importantly she's the best friend I've ever had. The most important thing Biscuit teaches me is that sometimes the best friends in the world have fur.
