Book Review: Shine!

Image
Shine! By Chris Grabenstein This is a wonderful, well-written book that features Piper, a new student at Chumley Prep School. She doesn't feel that she fits in very well. In this book you will meet her new friends, as well as her enemy.  Piper does some things that may not sound extraordinary, but each thing teaches the reader a lesson.  This shows that being a good true friend can make the difference in someone's life. While not trying to ever be fake, Piper does some things out of character for her. You will love this story! By Clara B.  - 6th grader

Book Review: Escape from Mr. Lemoncello's Library

Image
Escape from Mr. Lemoncello's Library, by Chris Grabenstein This book may seem intimidating in size, but because it's wonderfully written and full of action, it can be read in a short period of time. I recommend this book for fifth graders and older. The book starts with the main character getting grounded. It leads Kyle to his favorite game maker. Using his smarts, along with his friends' smarts, they attempt to beat Mr. Lemoncello's awesome game challenge. This book has many exciting adventurous plot twists that will keep you guessing until the last page. By Clara B. 6th Grader

Book Review: Fish in a Tree

You should definitely read this! Fish in a Tree by Lynda Mullaly Hunt is one of my favorite books. This book portrays what good friends and a good teacher look like.  I would recommend this book to fifth graders and older. Ally is the main character who has trouble reading. She soon befriends Keisha and Albert.  With the help of Mr. Albert (her teacher)she faces all her challenges. This book is so well written that you will wish there is a second book written.
